About Community Villages INC
A Bit of Background
Community Villages was established in 2019 with the interest to aid human suffering and oppression with addressing the needs of underserved communities. We saw the need to reconnect our community with human kindness. Our initial focus was on mental health and the unhoused communities until we saw the growing need to address, food insecurity, and the reentry population. Our values were develop on commitment and dedication and service to those communities that often are overlook and marginalized for essential daily needs.

Activities - Bringing Change
Team Works-Mental Health Advocacy (now offering mental health 101 workshop trainings)
At Community Villages, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing issues around one's mental health needs. We are always striving to make a difference, and focuses on linkage to mental health services. We have trained clinicians and staff offering services via therapeutic modalities to non-clinical staff offering skill development through programs such as cognitive behavioral approaches, Seeking Safety and more. Our staff values the support of services to increase access to mental health to individuals and their families.
Homeless (Unhoused) Outreach
Unhoused Outreach
We focus on integrating housed and unhoused communities. We meet individuals where they are and assist with accessing resources. We understand how challenging it can be to access housing resources, so our team helps aid with the basic essentials to referrals, linkage to external services, food, transportation resources and more. We understand that for some this situation is temporary and not permanent. Housing is a Need and it's Essential to one's quality of life.
Connecting members of the unhoused communities with agencies such as GLO's Independent Living, S.O.S. Richmond and more to help them connect with warm-welcomed resources.

Community Food Pantry
Food Security Program
We focus on securing our community with the basic food essentials. We aim to reduce the need for food by securing our communities with fresh fruits and vegetables and a host of non-perishable items in our community pantry. We aim to help build a healthier community during these different times.
In 2023, Community Villages established relationship with Greenwood Academy providing the opportunity for students to operate and have access to a supply of food as needed.
